Frumpled Fairy Tales
Was Written In The Summer Of 1973
While Working At Brown Ledge Camp
In The Burlington Area Of Vermont.
It Was My Turn To Direct A Play
That Would Feature Younger Campers
In The Cast & Appeal To Their Peers
In The Audience. After Going Through
A Number Of Fairy Tale Scripts, Not
Finding One That Really Appealed To
Me, I Sat Down With A Copy Of Grimm's
Fairy Tales, Started Typing...
And "Frumpled Fairy Tales" Was Born!

A Talented Young Ensemble Cast Of
Five Actresses Played The Eighteen
Roles And The Show, In It's First
Performance, Proved To Be Very
Entertaining For All Ages!

While I've Either Directed Or
Seen A Lot Of Other Productions Of
"Frumpled Fairy Tales" Over The Years
(One Used Turn Tables & Elaborate Sets)
That First Performance Will Always Be
My Favorite. Not Just Because
It Was The First, But Because The Show
(In No Small Part, Thanks To The Cast)
Proved Itself - On Its Own. The Show
Was Produced Quite Simply With A Few
Benches & Stools Using Simple Props
And Costume Pieces. More Elaborate
Productions Have Been Well Received,
But That First Performance Was More
About The Play And The Performers.

Since That First Production, The Show
Has Been Performed Hundreds Of Times
Across The US. Of All Of My Plays,
It Seems To Be Everyones's Favorite...
And Yes,
It'll Always Be My Favorite, Too!
